Surplex is an internationally successful eCommerce company which operates in the field of second-hand machinery for metal machining as well as wood working. Our team consists of more than 200 men/women that work at our headquarters in Duesseldorf, as well as at our subsidiaries and foreign representations in 16 European countries. You will be part of our diverse Western Europe team that resides in Belgium, Luxembourg, the UK, Germany and of course in the Netherlands. During your time with us at Surplex you are able to participate in great team events, which are also held at our HQ in Düsseldorf (Germany) once a year. During our weekly digital company meeting, you’ll also find out how things are going at our other locations in Europe. Another great benefit is the 30 days of holiday per year.

  • You are responsible for the acquisition of new sellers
  • In cooperation with the project manager you participate in the marketing of all our services as well as in sales development.
  • You prospect and create your customer portfolio
  • You are responsible for the fulfilment of the objectives set by the Area Manager Western Europe
  • Your organize business meetings and you are the first to contact potential sellers
  • You represent the company and make an initial inspection of the projects
  • You advise customers on our solutions and partnership opportunities
  • You create business proposals and negotiate contracts
  • You accompany your customers during their project
  • You regularly report your actions and results to the Area Manager Western Europe


  • You would like to develop something new and improve it further
  • You have and develop a network in English and Dutch
  • You love to work independently
  • You have several years of professional experience in woodworking or metalworking; technical knowledge is also a plus
  • You would describe yourself as an a structured and organized personality
  • You have completed a technical or commercial apprenticeship or an equivalent degree
